Reducing Cut Mesh Off-Cut Waste
What an exciting week it has been for us here at TrapMan. We have had a delivery and installation of our new industrial metal shredder. That’s right we downed tools and watched intently as our new toy was installed and of course we raced to be the first to use it.
We have discussed reducing waste a few times over the years and we try our best to reduce the amount of waste we get but the busier we get the more waste we have. We manufacture our traps here in our UK workshop which means the mesh, the measuring, the cutting and the waste are our responsibility. Off-cut mesh piled at the rear of the guillotine was a nightmare to handle and dispose of. It catches on just about everything and the scrap merchants were reluctant to accept it. This shredder machine will allow us to reduce our waste volume by 90% and make it more manageable, we think that this is a great start.
For our TrapMan team it is another dangerously fun machine to use during their working day but fear not they have all sat through extensive training before and after the installation.
