As you can see from the photo. the main mole run is situated under the hedge-line, the hills are pushed up in a line coming away from the main mole run, surface runs can also be seen if you look closely in the soil along the hedge. Scissor mole traps can be used to catch the mole in these surface runs by carefully scooping out the loose soil along the freshly pushed up trail to expose the mole run. Place the scissor mole trap in the run so that the handles are vertical and at 90° to the run, positioned so the mole can crawl between the curved part of the claws.

If mole hills are a problem use tunnel mole traps or pro scissor mole traps dig down between the mole hills, dig deep to find the horizontal mole run, clear the run and set the mole trap so that the mole has to pass through the catching loops of the tunnel mole trap or claws of the pro scissor mole trap, back fill just the top of the trap with loose soil to exclude light then cover the excavated hole with a tile or slate
